What launch control does
Launch control holds the engine at a pre-set RPM while you’re stationary with the throttle pressed and the car held. When you release, the engine is already at the optimal launch speed — enough to get off the line hard without bogging, but controlled enough to manage wheelspin. The ECU manages fuelling, ignition and the limiter to keep that launch RPM steady.
Why a fixed launch RPM matters
The difference between a great launch and a wasted one is consistency. Doing it manually, your launch revs vary every time and so does the result. A calibrated launch RPM means every start begins from the same optimal point — predictable, repeatable, and tuned to what your drivetrain can actually put down.

Launch control depends on your hardware. It shines on cars with the drivetrain and traction to use it, and it’s calibrated per vehicle to suit that setup.
